Westwerk Named Interactive Agency of Record for Marsh Supermarkets

Following the successful website launch of consumer-facing marsh.net last spring, Minneapolis-based Westwerk was awarded interactive agency of record for southeastern grocery chain Marsh Supermarkets. The first supermarket to implement and utilize digital scanners, Marsh has continued to push the envelope with each new initiative, reflected in its newly-launched, state-of-the-art website.

After a rigorous review process at the end of 2013, Westwerk was tapped by Marsh to provide strategy, UI/UX consultation, design and expert WordPress development. From restructuring the site’s navigation, key content areas and new page layouts to mouthwatering design and development, no detail was left unturned. User registration, ecommerce, digital coupon clipping, recipes with reviews and ratings, loyalty card integration and a responsive, mobile-friendly design were all integrated to enhance the visitor experience.

With its refreshed website, Marsh is poised for continued online growth. Since the site’s launch just a handful of months ago, the average clicks per visit have doubled, monthly traffic has doubled, page views have more than tripled, bounce rate was reduced by more than 50 percent, and average visit duration has increased from 1.5 minutes to 6 minutes. Lastly, user registrations have increased from 400 a month pre-launch to nearly 5,000 monthly registrants.
